Today is a national Portuguese holiday Independents Day. Everything closed, churches, shops, restaurants, even taxi don’t run. But I was able to get a ride from Azinhaga to Golega to skip a freeway walk. So today is a short walk from Golega to Vila Nova da Barquinha. Beautiful flowers filled fields along the route, olives trees grove, horses, old villages…
People in Portugal look very relaxed and easy going. They walk slowly, don’t move fast; someone told me if they move fast they will be sweating (because of heat), so yeah… they are very slooowwww….
Saw more stroke nests 🪺 this one more like an apartment building, someone even have got a penthouse!
A little snack before my hostel is open, arrived too early
Because of the holiday, everything is closed and we weren’t able to find any restaurant to eat tonight, but were lucky to get some street food and it was delicious ( or we were so hungry 😋)
