Camino Portuguese Day 4, 4/22. Azambuja - Valada.

After raining day yesterday, today I’ve got my first sunburn 🙄

Walking from Azambuja is much nicer, countryside and quiet old villages with very neat tiled buildings. Finally met a few more pilgrims. Yey! I was thinking I’ll be walking all by myself. I was told it’s a quiet route from Lisbon to Porto where more pilgrims will join.

Saw a few stork nests along the way

It was relatively short walk today about 16 km and found this amazing place in the middle of nowhere. Marchanta is a horse stable converted into a hotel. Very luxurious place I can say! Lovely old house, pool, chapel, play room and bar, outdoor seating covered with vineries. I got a real key to my room!
