Camino Portuguese Day 3, 04/21. Lisbon to Azambuja.

Started my walk from Lisbon Se cathedral, got my credential but wasn’t able to get the Camino shell 😕 weird staring to walk my Camino without it’s special recognition… will keep my eyes open and hopefully find it along the way. Should bring my old Camino shell…

Walking out of city is tricky, it’s like a scavenger hunt for a yellow and blue arrow between street signs and vendors stuff. Have seen only one pilgrim but he walked so fast… so I lost him quickly.

Can you find those arrows on this picture?

Walking out of Lisbon through industrial areas is not fun, but graffiti is pretty cool

Visited Azulejo, the national tile museum on my way. What a beautiful tile is made here… from 16th century to 20th… and I can tell some city buildings that were tiled maybe hundreds years ago are still have it’s original tile and it still look pretty good, didn’t shade or discolored.

Some tile artists from 16th-17th century were funky-punks, just look at those masterpiece 😛

Even Q-code at Azulejo is made of… tile 😊

It was raining day, so just walked to Moscavido and took a train to Azambruja, soaking wet all through to my panties😆 got into my next sleeping place called Casa da Rainha (sounds like perfect for this rain day, but in Portuguese Rainha has nothing to do with rain… it’s Quinn 😄 the Quinn’s House) very nice authentic place. The very nice hot shower made my day!!! This is how you appreciate the little things 😇

I have to add this - an amazing place in Azambruja, family owned (all women!) restaurant Tasco da Ilda is just around the corner from Casa da Rainha serves delicious traditional Portuguese dishes in home like atmosphere. The owner and cook is a very sweet lady told me her family story that I admire!

Traditional Portuguese fish soup, cod fish in a bread plate and sooooo delicious dessert called "love me not" of course with pairing of local wine (they don't drink just water at a dinner here in Portugal 😄)
