Porto. Here I’m! It seems I just walked about 350 km… it says the whole Camino Portuguese from Lisboa to Santiago is about 630 km. And the shorter version ( which is more popular) is from Porto to Santiago about 280km. I definitely see more pilgrims here in Porto.
But before I start my second part of this Camino I stayed in Porto two days exploring this beautiful historical city.
The view from my Porto hotel room observed Palacio da Bolsa and the Infante D. Henrique Square in the historical centre of Porto, designated World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
First impressions… too busy. Too many tourists and it happened to be a graduation day with more kids and parents in the city. It’s hard to find a place to eat … crowns everywhere. I took a city bus tour and stayed about an hour in line just to get into the bus… same with a boat cruise. But here is a photo reportage from Porto.
The Porto cathedral
Today I walked just 7km just outside of Porto and stayed in a nice beach front hotel to shorten my day tomorrow. It’s going to be 20+km day tomorrow along the coast to my next destination.
Beautiful Porto! Brings back so many memories!
