Camino #2. Costa da Morte.

Updated: Aug 30, 2021

Costa da Morte is The extension of the Camino de Santiago that connects with Muxia and Finisterre.

It is estimated that between 10 and 15% of the pilgrims who arrive in Santiago de Compostela continue their journey to Finisterre and Muxia, as epilogue of the path they made by walking following the course of the sun to the “end of the world”.

I met two Russian girlfriends on the way to Muxia. Marina and Natalia, they live in Vigo, Spain. We have had very fun journey together and I’ll be visiting them later in Vigo.

MUXIA

0.00 km - they called “end of the world“.

It’s very foggy here… I imagine how first pilgrims came here and saw nothing but giant racks and sea blended with the sky… the end!

Next day at Muxia was little better so we could see surrounding mountains and the ocean

every small town has its nightlife 🥳🕺🏻💃

Finisterre

Next stop - Finisterre. Many pilgrims chose Finisterre their final destination after Santiago de Compostela.

The real prize at the end of this road will be to silently contemplate the sunset over the ocean, an exciting moment, difficult to explain in words, in which pilgrims take stock of the days, weeks or months of travel that have taken them here.
